WAV is the first, (WATER) chapter in the Element Series—the opening current of the larger WILSON World. Inspired by the melodic imagination of Brian Wilson, The Beatles, Phil Collins, and Tears for Fears, alongside the rhythmic experimentation of progressive rock groups like Genesis and King Crimson, the album moves with a fluid, wave-like energy. Melodies rise and recede, rhythms shift like changing tides, and familiar song forms open into unexpected waters. On the cover, Waverly is a surreal whale with a star-speckled blue body, surrounded by curling waves and vivid color. He becomes a guide through WAV’s dreamlike waters, carrying listeners into a world where music can drift, turn, and take on a life of its own. As the Water chapter, WAV sets the Element Series in motion. Released 2014

DIG is the second, (Earth) chapter of the Element Series, where the focus turns to the song itself: its melody, words, and the feeling at its core. Guided by the Tom Petty songwriting ethos I follow, each song should be strong enough to stand on its own with just a guitar or piano. Organic and grounded, these songs grow from their original inspiration. The cover introduces Parker, a curious boy digging into the soil among new growth. He’s a fitting guide for this chapter: hands in the earth, searching beneath the surface for what’s taking root. Like Parker the Curious Boy, DIG reaches back to each song’s first spark—the honest message and feeling that give it life—and lets everything else grow from there. Released 2017
